Credit Union West Employees Donate Over $9,000 to Help Families Facing Homelessness

Credit Union West employees partnered with the CU West CARES Charitable Foundation to donate $9,105.04 to Agape House of Prescott, Ariz.

Founded in 2013, the Agape House of Prescott is a nonprofit organization that focuses on helping families in the Prescott and Prescott Valley areas by providing long-term transitional housing for families facing homelessness. The organization says they have an 86% success rate of families living independently one year after graduating from Agape House. Their mission is to change the face of homelessness, one family at a time.

The EmployeesCARE Program at Credit Union West is funded by employees to give back to local organizations. Each year, employees nominate and vote for four organizations that will benefit from the funds, and to enhance their giving, the CU West CARES Charitable Foundation matches their contributions.

The Agape House of Prescott was chosen for the important work they do to aid families in times of crisis and to put them on a path to self-sufficiency. Agape House keeps families together and uses a four-phase program that provides life skills training and a pathway to stability, personal wellness, and sustainability.

“We’re proud to support an organization that has become a vital tool to combat homelessness in the Prescott and Prescott Valley areas,” said Karen Roch, President and CEO at Credit Union West. “Their success rate and focus on families is truly inspiring and I’m thrilled that they were chosen to be an EmployeesCARE recipient.”
