MAXX Giveaway Winners Share Memorable CU Impact Moments

In celebration of GoWest’s two-year anniversary, a giveaway was held for TWO Full Experience Badges for MAXX 2024 in Denver on Oct. 13-16.

Dozens of GoWest credit union colleagues commented on our LinkedIn and Facebook two-year anniversary posts and told us about their favorite moment of credit union impact, and two commenters were randomly selected to receive a Full Experience Badge.

Congratulations to Dawn Greene of Trona Valley Credit Union and Jim Koester of P1FCU!

“Bringing the Credit Unions together allows for greater resources/education for the members in our communities as well as employees in the six states,” commented Greene on LinkedIn. “One of my favorite impacts of how Credit Unions can assist is being a part of advocacy this year where we worked with Bobbie Frank and our legislators in Wyoming to pass a crucial bill with towing companies to reduce the fees on towed/abandoned vehicles. Being a part of that process and telling our members/Credit Union stories from start to finish was very rewarding and now I am a GoWest key advocacy contact with Trona Valley Federal Credit Union. I am excited to continue to meet with legislators to discuss the importance of Credit Unions in all communities. People helping People is what Credit Unions are about. “My favorite moment was attending my first North Idaho Chapter event in 2018,” Koester said on LinkedIn. “I didn’t realize local credit unions organized events focused on the Credit Union Movement. Each October, the Chapter plans a dinner to celebrate International Credit Union Day. There is a guest speaker from a credit union and a local nonprofit also gives a presentation. Proceeds from a silent raffle are then donated to that nonprofit.”
