Unitus Community Credit Union Opens New Environmentally-Friendly Business Center

Unitus Community Credit Union opened its new Distributed Administrative Network Center on April 29, 2024, in Tigard, Oregon. The location of the new Unitus Business Center (UBC)-Tigard was strategically chosen to reduce staff commute time and environmental impacts.

The facility is home to five acres of dedicated wetlands to help offset the credit union’s carbon footprint, and the building features operational systems that are environmentally friendly and controlled onsite, which will enhance business continuity efforts. UBC-Tigard will better serve Unitus’ operational needs and support remote, hybrid, and in-office work while also giving staff access to a dedicated outdoor recreation area that features pickleball and bocce ball courts.

“After more than two years of planning and programming the new facility, we are thrilled to welcome employees to the new Unitus Business Center-Tigard,” said Steven Stapp, President and CEO of Unitus Community Credit Union. “We are grateful for the excellent partners who helped build out our new location, taking our ideas and making them a reality. Every aspect of UBC-Tigard was engineered with sustainability in mind.”

Unitus will no longer occupy its Unitus Plaza location in downtown Portland and will be transitioning operations to multiple locations, including UBC-Tigard. A new branch in downtown Portland will open at a later date.

“This move addresses the changing needs of our organization and creates long-term value for our membership by reducing overall operating costs,” explained Stapp. “We are looking forward to connecting with our new neighbors and community partners as we work out of UBC-Tigard.”
