Central Willamette Credit Union President Appointed to Business Oregon Commission

Stacie Wyss-Schoenborn, president and CEO of Central Willamette Credit Union in Albany, Oregon, has been appointed to serve on the Business Oregon Commission. Nominated by Governor Tina Kotek last year, the Oregon State Senate officially voted on her confirmation on February 14.

The nine-member commission oversees the activities of Business Oregon as it pursues its mission to create, retain, expand and attract businesses that provide sustainable, living-wage jobs for Oregonians through public-private partnerships, leveraged funding, and support for economic opportunities for Oregon companies and entrepreneurs. The Business Oregon Commission’s responsibility is to ensure a coherent, integrated approach to economic development and a continuous policy direction that can transcend changes in executive and legislative leadership.

“Stacie will be an outstanding asset to the commission,” said Troy Stang, president and CEO of GoWest Credit Union Association. “She is both a strategic, visionary leader and a tenacious and hardworking problem solver. Credit unions have long supported economic and community development, and we can expect that having our industry represented in this high-profile position will bring greater awareness of our members’ contributions on this front.”

She earned the prestigious title of Oregon Credit Union Advocate of the Year in both 2018 and 2023, as recognized by GoWest. Additionally, she was honored as a “Woman to Watch” by Credit Union Times in 2013.

Passionate about community involvement, Stacie is currently immediate past chair of the Albany Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Linn-Benton Community College board of education and Oregon Business and Industry board member,  , vice chair of Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation, co-chair of the Willamette Valley Sister Society of the Global Women’s Leadership Network, , and a member of the Greater Albany Rotary Club. She is also a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority Alumni Association and the University of Oregon Alumni Association.

Stacie has more than 25 years of financial services experience. Prior to joining Central Willamette Credit Union in 2015, she was vice president of member services at BECU, where she served for seven years. Her background also includes serving as account vice president at CUNA Mutual Group, compliance engineer at John H. Harland Co., consultant at Northwest Credit Union Association and credit manager at Wells Fargo. In addition, she was an i3 at Filene Research Institute.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Oregon and a master’s degree in business administration from Marylhurst University.
