On Jan. 24, 2024, Solarity Credit Union published its 2023 Community Impact Report, showcasing noteworthy highlights from the year that contributed to making a difference in Yakima and Kittitas counties.

The annual year-in-review details the credit union’s commitment to living out the mission of people helping people and making it possible for its members to achieve their financial goals. From product and service improvements to donations and employee volunteering, it provides an overview of what Solarity Credit Union does for its members and the community. Some highlights include the following:

  • In 2023, Solarity funded more than $60 million in loans, bringing the total loan volume over the last seven years to $1.23 billion.
  • These loans made it possible for 1,468 members to buy new homes, cars, RVs and more.
  • Solarity financed commercial multi-family real estate loans comprising 373 doors, which created housing opportunities for roughly 895 people.

“We are so proud of what was accomplished for our membership and the community in 2023,” said Solarity President and CEO Mina Worthington. “Our members are at the center of everything we do, and we remain devoted to their financial health and wellbeing as we move into 2024.”

The report includes sections featuring innovations from the past year, member stories and new products that help make members’ financial lives better. The report also details the credit union’s donations to community partners, as well as local events and sponsorships throughout the year. Volunteerism is important to the health of any community, and Solarity supports its employees in their volunteering efforts.

“We are proud of our employees whose volunteerism contributed 450 hours to local causes. In addition, employee charitable giving through payroll deductions raised over $10,000 toward local community partners, such as the Yakima Humane Society, United Way and Habitat for Humanity,” said Worthington.

In 2023, there was a continued focus on connecting with the community. From providing members with loans for their important milestones, such as buying their first home or car, to supporting critical causes, Solarity prioritized its community and fostered growth and empowerment for years to come.
