Gearing up for the Colorado Legislative session

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of events, meetings, fundraisers, and meet-and-greets as we gear up for the Colorado legislative session, starting on Wednesday January 10th. I thank all of the credit union advocates who have leaned in to help us prepare for the upcoming session by talking to legislators. Below you’ll see a small selection of the amazing advocacy work that has been happening in Colorado on behalf of credit unions.

Over the holidays we had events like the Pueblo Chapter event where Representative Tisha Mauro spoke to credit union leaders about her upcoming bills, and we were able to share our legislative priorities in 2024.

We met with many candidates running for office and offered financial support to Michael Carter who is running for office in Aurora for state legislator – check out his website if you would like to learn more at carterforcolorado.com.

Your GoWest staff and credit union leaders joined elected officials at Boots and Business.

Speaker of the House Julie McCluskie joined my table and chatted credit union legislation while we got a preview of the incredible animals and entertainers that will be at the Stock Show.

And my husband happily volunteered to drive all over the front range with me to deliver homemade Christmas cookies to legislators that have been friends of Credit Unions to give a personal touch and wish them a happy holiday season.

I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday season and are excited for a New Year and a new legislative session in Colorado.
