InRoads Credit Union Selects Nathan Cox as President and CEO

The board of directors of InRoads Credit Union, based in St. Helens, Oregon, is pleased to announce the selection of Nathan Cox as the credit union’s new president and CEO.

Cox will succeed Brooke Van Vleet-Pearson, who is retiring after serving in the role for nearly 11 years.

“After a nationwide search that attracted exceptional talent, we are excited to have Nathan Cox joining InRoads as our next CEO,” said Board Chair Lea Chitwood. “With Nathan’s strong commercial background, his dedication to community, and his ability to align teams, he will further build on Van Vleet-Pearson’s legacy of success. The board is excited to welcome Nathan to our community and is looking forward to him leading the credit union in the years ahead.”

Cox said he is honored to join the great team at InRoads. “They have done a great job building the InRoads brand, and I am excited to play a pivotal role in guiding them into the future as we grow the organization,” he said.

Cox has over 35 years of business and professional experience, primarily in the financial services industry. He held senior management positions for over 15 years, most recently as the senior vice president, chief lending officer at Travis Credit Union in Vacaville, California. Cox has extensive nonprofit board experience and currently serves as a board member and chair of the finance committee at the California Medicine Coalition. He is actively involved in credit union organizations like the African American Credit Union Coalition and in community organizations such as the Employee Development Network, the African American Business Resource Group, and the American Diabetes and Alzheimer’s associations.

He has volunteered with the United Way, Goodwill of Sacramento Valley, and Habitat for Humanity for Greater Sacramento, and is looking forward to continuing this engagement in the communities served by InRoads. Cox holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and an MBA in corporate finance from Golden Gate University in San Francisco.
