Unitus Community Credit Union’s Director of Workplace Diversity Honored

Partners in Diversity, a nonprofit committed to attracting, retaining, and developing diversity influencers and professionals of color, honored Unitus Community Credit Union’s Director of Workplace Diversity, Alicia Moore, at its quarterly “Say Hey!” event.

“Say Hey!” is a multicultural networking event that honors recently relocated professionals of color as part of Partners in Diversity’s ongoing efforts to empower a workforce that reflects the rapidly changing demographics of the Pacific Northwest.

Partners in Diversity celebrated its 45 “Say Hey!” honorees at a ceremony at Portland, Oregon’s World Trade Center. Leaders from Unitus celebrated Moore’s recognition at the event. President and CEO Steven Stapp, SVP and Chief Human Resources Officer Gayle Evans, AVP of Strategic Partnerships Megan Snyder, Executive Services Manager Day Bibb, and Organizational Development Director Gigi Gardner joined Moore for the celebration, along with Unitus Board members Nicole Davison León and Tiffini Mueller.

“This was such an amazing event, and I am grateful to have been honored,” said Moore. “Having the support of my Unitus leadership and colleagues made this recognition even more special.”

Moore has more than 10 years of experience in diversity, inclusion, and community engagement that she brought to Unitus since joining the credit union in January 2022.

“It was a pleasure to be there to recognize Alicia and her critical role at Unitus,” said Evans. “She has already made such an impact on our organization in the short time she’s been with us, and we are thrilled to have her on our team.”

A graduate of both Marquette University and Cardinal Stritch University, Moore holds undergraduate degrees in Communications and Sociology. In 2014, she received her MBA. In 2021, she received her Certification in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace from the University of South Florida Muma College of Business and is an Advisory Member to the ERG Leadership Alliance.

“Partners in Diversity’s recognition of Alicia is a great reflection of the work we strive to do each and every day at Unitus,” explained Stapp. “Alicia’s expertise and leadership in diversity, equity, and inclusion are advancing our goals to remove barriers to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for our staff, members, and community.”
