Job Description:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
·         New Member Acquisition

·         Lead strategic outreach to source new business members through networking, referrals, and local market engagement.

·         Create and execute plans to expand the credit union’s presence within the business community.

·         Works in tandem with Community Engagement and other credit union partners when necessary to originate products and services for business and consumer leads.

·         Relationship Management & Business Development

·         Track and manage all business development activities using CRM tools; maintain updated business development plans and reports.

·         Assess and enhances the success of business development strategies, recommending improvements as needed.

·         Build and nurture relationships with partners and influencers to generate high-quality leads.

·         Utilizes a consultative approach to their sales and service execution, ensuring that we are matching needs to solutions.

·         Subject matter expert within the credit union’s business and consumer product suite.

·         Strategic Initiatives & Portfolio Growth

·         Contribute to the design and implementation of business development strategies aimed at member acquisition and partnership expansion.

·         Collaborate with branch managers to shape local business opportunities, pursue warm leads, and represent the credit union at business events.

·         Analyze and understand business members’ operating models, financial cycles, and cash flow requirements.

·         Recommend customized solutions, including deposit, lending, line of credit, cash management, and merchant services.

·         Member & Community Engagement

·         Develop and deliver engaging presentations highlighting credit union membership benefits and financial wellness offerings.

·         Engage in community events and initiatives to identify opportunities for new products and campaigns that address evolving business needs.

·         Build positive working relationships with vendors, facilitating effective communication and collaboration to overcome challenges.

·         Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

·         Work effectively across teams, including Community Engagement, Branch Managers, and branch staff, to achieve business development objectives.

·         Pursue ongoing professional development and skill enhancement to support personal growth and the credit union’s objectives.

 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS
·         Superior presentation, organizational, and planning skills.
·         Excellent communication skills-verbal, written, and instructional.
·         Ability to multitask and perform under pressure, including schedule management and conflict resolution.
·         High level of discretion and judgement in interpreting and applying policies.
·         Strong knowledge of local and market dynamics and small business challenges.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
·         Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field, or equivalent work/educational experience.
·         Minimum of five years of progressively responsible sales and/or sales management experience
·         Superior presentation, organizational, and planning skills.
·         Experience working with small/mid-sized businesses in a financial services capacity.
·         Positive, solutions-focused attitude with passion for business growth and community engagement.

 

JOB RELATIONSHIPS
·         This position reports directly to the Business Services Manager and may have daily contact with employees, management team, members, Board of Directors, and outside organizations.

 

ESSENTIAL MENTAL, PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
·         General – The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. ·         Physical – Office mobility required. Approximately 20% standing, 70% sitting, 10% walking, as need demands. Possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate standard office equipment including a computer or typewriter keyboard, 10-key calculator, facsimile machine, photocopier and telephone. Other demands include talking, handling & reaching, seeing (corrected vision) and hearing in a normal range. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. A telephone device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed. Occasional light lifting. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Periodic inter-branch or interdepartmental access may be required, including distribution and access to various materials, equipment, meetings, etc. Storage and retrieval of materials, maximum reach required is 84 inches.
·         Mental – Mental effort required involving considerable organization, planning and analytical efforts with superior communication. General demands include alertness, memory, observation, empathy, ingenuity, learning ability, problem solving; patience; initiative; memory; objectivity, creativity, speaking ability, reading and writing ability, judgment, persuasiveness, concentration, flexibility, precision, and auditory discrimination.
·         Environmental – Minimal discomfort from heat, dust, air conditioning. The noise level is usually moderate, including external road noise. Transport within remote branch and/or main office/facility may be single or multilevel (as required) including a variety of stairways, elevators, etc. Exposure to computers and other electronic equipment. Lunch/break area exposed to microwave; and is in basement at main office. The facility is 100% free of tobacco smoke.
·         Equipment – Essential equipment used includes, but may not be limited to telephone, personal computer, other on-line computer terminal(s), calculator, office security systems. Non-essential equipment generally includes paper shredders, photocopy machines, facsimile (fax) machines, etc.
