A Day in the Life…
As the Business Services Relationship Manager, your typical day may include the following:
- Your day begins with a review of your calendar. You prepare call plans for Centers of Influence, prospects, and existing members you scheduled the previous week.
- You join the morning huddle with your department to align on the weekly workload, share success strategies, and seek support for any challenges.
- After reviewing the pipeline, you dive into current deals-communicating updates to Credit and your department to maintain transparency and quality.
- You follow up with borrowers, address requests, and complete action items to keep deals moving forward.
- Next, you make calls or join scheduled Zoom meetings with new prospects or Centers of Influence. Equipped with a call plan, you take notes, identify opportunities, and build relationships. After each call, you log leads and notes to set the stage for future follow-ups.
- You shift to prospecting, reaching out via phone or email to new Centers of Influence and potential members. You network through platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn, documenting your outreach efforts.
- You then connect with current members to strengthen relationships and support retention.
- Around midday, you shift your attention to personal development. You report directly to the VP of Commercial Business Sales, and attend a scheduled one-on-one which provides you the opportunity to review performance goals, discuss progress, and explore future growth opportunities.
- After lunch, you head out to meet a potential borrower. Upon returning to the office, you log the meeting, send a thank-you email, and schedule the next touchpoint.
- You spend the next hour reviewing emails and following up on action items from earlier in the day.
- You reserve the final hour for yourself — organizing your workspace, planning your calendar for the next day or week, and reflecting on your successes and opportunities for improvement.
