VP of Finance

Role:

Responsible for maintaining the accounting and finance functions of the Credit Union. This responsibility encompasses investment, financial records, asset-liability reporting and maintenance of financial data. This would include regulatory reporting, budgeting, ratio analysis, and contracts. Serves as liaison for auditors and examiners.

Responsibilities

• Perform as a member of the management team, assisting in the formulation and execution of Credit Union policies, objectives, programs and strategic plan.
• Responsible for the financial well being of the Credit Union. Writes, reviews, and distributes financial policy and accurate procedure statements to ensure regulatory and policy compliance.
• Responsible for Asset/Liability management and budgeting processes for the Credit Union.
• Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, reports, Quarterly Call report and other regulatory filings.
• Directs the Credit Union’s investment activities.
• Prepare financial information for NCUA and the Division of Financial Services as well as other third party users. File necessary tax returns and reports.
• Supervise the accounting and information technology department to include recruiting, training, directing and evaluating department employees.
• Facilitate audits and exams.

Requirements

• Experience: Five to ten years of similar or related experience.
• Education: (1) A bachelor’s degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor’s degree (CPA is not required).
• Interpersonal Skills: Motivating or influencing others is a material part of the job. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others. The role requires a significant level of trust or diplomacy.
• Other Skills: A degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting
• Excellent analytical skills, people skills and self-directionProficiency with PC accounting, spreadsheet, and word processing software.Background in financial data processing systems preferred.
