Pay Range

The full pay range is $101,036.00-$151,554.00/annually. Depending on experience and qualifications.

We offer a bilingual differential for employees who can assist our members’ financial needs in a second language. Proficiency is subject to passing a standardized verbal assessment. Currently approved languages are Korean, Russian, Spanish, and Tagalog.

We are seeking a IT Security Engineer to join our team! This position is responsible for managing, designing, and administrating the credit union’s network security and application security platforms. Works with credit union teams and vendors to oversee day-to-day operations of the credit union information security infrastructure as well as developing and maintaining measures to uphold the security of the organization’s systems and information assets. Works closely with the Information Security team to execute on information security recommendations.

Responsibilities:

• Implements and manages micro segmentation, zero trust, privileged access management, endpoint detection and response, and IP address management.
• Analyzes security systems and applications and recommends and develops measures to protect information against vulnerabilities, data exfiltration, and unauthorized access.
• Analyzes system functions and failures to isolate and define problem areas.
• Assists in developing logical, financially responsible, secure, and performant network infrastructure based on industry best practices for a regulated financial institution.
• Assists with the clarification of individual information security responsibility and accountability.
• Administers virtual private networking solutions for third-party connectivity.
• Assists management in developing and maintaining networking and information security strategic technology roadmap for the organization.
• Builds strong collaborative relationships with IT peers and business peers to improve operational processes and policies for information security.
• Administers firewall technologies such as Palo Alto, Sask, and Checkpoint. Administers Cisco Systems security technologies.
• Identifies and researches current and future security risks, vulnerabilities and weaknesses in software, systems, and infrastructure and makes recommendations on possible mitigation needed.
• Manages and ensure adherence to network and security frameworks based on the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST 800-53 model and PCI (Payment Card Industry) for a financial institution.
• Manages daily change management and maintenance processes regarding network and security systems.
• Manages networking interconnectivity and security infrastructure in Microsoft Azure and other cloud providers.
• Protects IT systems against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction.
• Write system and process documentation.
• Provides on-site and telephonic technical services necessary to insure the continuing operation and optimization of the network.
• Takes ownership and accountability for assisting in developing processes and continuous improvement in networking, information security systems, protections, and incident response.
• Tracks and maintains constant communication with internal stakeholders from the beginning to the end of any established network outage, incident, issue, or concerns.
• All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

• Associates Degree in Computer Science, or related field.
• 5 + years’ experience as an IT Security Engineer, Information Security Engineer, or similar role.
• Experience must encompass micro segmentation, zero trust, privileged access management, endpoint detection and response, and IP address management.

Education and Experience Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

Certifications Required:

• Certification with Azure Networking and Firewalling concepts.

Certifications Preferred:

• CCNA, CCNP, CISSP

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Data loss prevention technologies, intrusion detection/prevention platforms, web proxy technologies, vulnerability scanning systems, secure email gateways, and other similar security technologies.
• Familiar with NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST 800-53, PCI and CIS Controls Frameworks.
• Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) technologies and/or other detection technologies.
• Remain highly adaptable in a growing organization.
• Speak, present and market technical concepts to management.
• Strong commitment to continuous education on networking concepts and cyber security education.

This position is eligible for Full-Time Regular benefits. Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance is paid at a 100% by company for the employee coverage. We also offer Health Care FSA (HCFSA) and Day Care FSA (DCFSA). Full-Time Regular employees accrue 8 hours of vacation and 8 hours of sick leave, on a monthly basis. Full-Time Regular hired employees also receive 11 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, 1 floating holiday, 16 hours of self-care time, and 16 hours of volunteer time.

All benefits except 401k start the first of the month after 30 days of employment. Employees become eligible to contribute to 401k on the first of the month following 60 days of employment.
