Role Summary:
The HRP – Leave Administrator position plays a key role in the Credit Union by providing high quality and professional service to all team members managing leaves of absences under FMLA, WAPFML, PLO, and any additional leave options offered by the Credit Union. This position tends to all team members’ inquiries and needs while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and company policies and procedures. This role involves processing leave requests, tracking leave balances, coordinating with various stakeholders (team members, team leaders/managers, payroll, etc.), and maintaining accurate records. They also play a key role in educating team members and management about leave policies and procedures. The HRP – Leave Administrator role will report to the Human Resources Manager/Team Leader and proactively partners with peer members of the HR team to accomplish goals and proudly serve our team members.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Process paperwork and administer all leave-of-absence requests including medical, disability, FMLA, Washington Paid Family and Medical Leave, Paid Leave Oregon, Military Leave, ADA, and any additional leave options offered by the Credit Union
- Respond to and handle timely preparation of Workers Compensation (L&I) inquiries and other regulatory reporting
- Manage and track all team member form I-9s and required documentation, including team member name changes and reverification of employment authorization documents
- Serve as subject matter expert for all HRIS entries and processes, as related to leaves of absences, E-Verify, and return to work processes
- Facilitate interactive processes for reasonable accommodations and ensure smooth return-to-work transitions
- Demonstrate knowledge and fluency in labor laws and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
- Generate reports and analyze leave data to identify trends and areas for education/improvement
- Assist team members with our HRIS including completion of timesheets and employee self-service options
- Respond to and complete verifications of employment in a timely manner
- Manage, track, and prepare employer responses for unemployment claims through the Employment Security Department
- Process paperwork for ergonomic equipment requests and accommodation requests
- Develop strong trusting relationships with team members and management to gain support and achieve results
- Crosstrain in and serve as backup for peer HR team members as needed, supporting continuity of service across all HR roles
- Collaborate with the HR team on development, implementation and communication of existing and new HR procedures and policies
- Understand and perform Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) functions as applicable to job responsibilities
- Attend credit union training sessions, conferences, or seminars as approved by supervisor
- Maintain awareness of policies and regulations related to duties and responsibilities

About You:
- Maintain and protect sensitive data utilizing the highest standard of confidentiality and professionalism
- Ability to maintain HIPAA certification
- Excellent communication and effective interpersonal skills, including a positive attitude, to deal tactfully, effectively, and confidentially with individuals in all types of situations and across all levels of the CU
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Proven ability to objectively coach team members through complex, difficult, and emotional issues
- Ability to work with great accuracy and be detail oriented
- Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
- High school diploma required. Two (2) or four (4) year degree preferred in Human Resource Management, Psychology, or Sociology
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in benefits administration, leaves of absence, HR operations, compliance, or other related programs
- Strong knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations relating to benefits, HIPAA, FMLA, WAPFML, OPL and Miliary Leave (USERRA and state level)
- MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) at the intermediate skill level
- Experience with HRIS, specifically Paycom, and performance management software
- Proficient in computer applications, reporting, and file/data systems
Certifications & Licenses:
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification is preferred

Full Salary Range:
$25.70-$42.83
*While our full pay range is listed, most new team members typically start between the minimum and midpoint based on their experience and qualifications. This approach gives room to grow within the role as your career progresses with us!”
