Job Description:

The Controller is a member of the Senior Management team, reporting to the CEO/President. Our ideal applicant should be innovative, forward thinking, and comfortable taking initiative. This position is primarily responsible for directing, coordinating, maintaining, and controlling an accounting system that properly reflects the financial position of the credit union. You will oversee the reconciliation of general ledger accounts and prepaid/fixed assets, cash balances, lines of credit, etc. You will also be responsible for creating, analyzing and interpreting statistical and accounting information and assist the VP of Finance in the areas of profitability, performance compared to budget, and other statistical information. You must possess exemplary people skills as you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of 4 skilled and knowledgeable employees. Because this is a new position, we need a dynamic leader that will be able to hit the ground running, can work with little to no direction, is able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Four-year degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA/CPA preferred.
  • 3 years applicable experience as an Assistant Controller or senior management position in a credit union, community bank, financial institution or similar industry.
  • Minimum of 4 years of leadership experience, leading a team of 4 or more people.
  • Or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
