Business Development Manager



Kitsap Credit Union is hiring a fulltime, salaried Business Development Manager to work with our team based out of our corporate office in beautiful Kitsap County, WA.  This role is remote work eligible but may require in-office work up to at least 2-3 days per week.  The Business Development Manager is responsible for acquiring new small and midsize business depository and loan relationships, helping enrich the banking relationships cultivated by the Commercial Lenders. This position is also responsible for cultivating relationships and prospecting new business in assigned market areas, while ensuring compliance with Credit Union policies and procedures.

Typical Job Duties

  • Provide direct assistance to a portfolio of Commercial Business customers via telephone, in person, secure email, and at the member’s place of business.
  • Support and reinforce the Credit Union’s Sales culture and recognize cross-selling opportunities for products and services both with staff and members.
  • Engage in business development activities and solicitation of new business prospects in the assigned market area.
  • Assume responsibility for special projects; gathers data and prepares reports for Senior Management.
  • Meet weekly with VP of Sales for status updates.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales & Marketing, or comparable, or equivalent experience
  • Four plus years’ experience with new business development / account executive functions including a minimum of two years or more of prospecting experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 Suite of software
  • Proven track record of success in closing new customer prospects.
  • Proven track record of finding member solutions to complex business needs.
  • Must be registered with the Nationwide mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) within 30 days of hire and comply with the SAFE Act regulations if required for assigned market.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Two plus years Credit Union or Banking experience
