Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Branch Leadership & Team Development

  • Provide leadership and direction for all branch employees.
  • Create a positive, professional, accountable, and member-focused branch culture.
  • Coach employees to improve performance, product knowledge, member service, and relationship-building skills.
  • Establish individual and branch performance expectations and regularly review progress.
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and development.
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and development of branch employees.
  • Identify opportunities for employee development and advancement within the Credit Union.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and coordinate employee schedules.
  • Lead regular branch meetings and communicate organizational priorities, goals, and initiatives.

Member Experience

  • Ensure members consistently receive exceptional, friendly, and professional service.
  • Build long-term relationships with members by understanding their financial needs and identifying appropriate Credit Union solutions.
  • Assist employees with complex member situations and provide appropriate resolution.
  • Handle member concerns and complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Promote a relationship-based approach to member service rather than a transaction-based approach.
  • Serve as a visible and approachable leader for members visiting the branch.

Business Development & Branch Growth

  • Develop and execute strategies to grow branch membership, deposits, loans, and overall member relationships.
  • Build relationships with local businesses, community organizations, employer groups, and other potential membership partners.
  • Actively participate in community events, networking opportunities, and business organizations.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen relationships with existing members.
  • Generate and develop new member and business relationships through proactive outreach.
  • Promote Idaho United products and services within the community.
  • Develop referral relationships that support consumer lending, mortgage lending, business services, and other Credit Union initiatives.
  • Track branch growth and business development activities and report progress to executive management.

Lending & Financial Services

  • Assist members with consumer loan applications and other lending needs as appropriate.
  • Evaluate loan requests within established lending authority and Credit Union policy.
  • Identify opportunities to expand lending relationships with existing and prospective members.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Credit Union loan products, deposit products, digital services, and other financial solutions.
  • Coach employees on identifying member needs and making appropriate product and service recommendations.
  • Support Credit Union lending and deposit growth objectives.

Branch Operations

  • Oversee the daily operations of the branch.
  • Ensure branch opening, closing, cash handling, security, dual-control, and other operational procedures are consistently followed.
  • Maintain appropriate cash levels and ensure accurate balancing and reconciliation.
  • Monitor branch activity for operational, fraud, security, or compliance concerns.
  • Ensure branch facilities and equipment are maintained in a professional and secure condition.
  • Review branch reports and operational activity and address exceptions as necessary.
  • Maintain appropriate internal controls and segregation of duties.
  • Ensure branch records and documentation are complete, accurate, and properly maintained.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure branch activities comply with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, Credit Union policies, and internal procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements affecting branch operations and member service.
  • Ensure employees complete required compliance training.
  • Monitor branch activities for potential fraud, suspicious activity, or policy violations and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Assist with internal audits, regulatory examinations, and corrective actions when applicable.
  • Maintain confidentiality of member and Credit Union information.

Performance Expectations

The Branch Manager will be evaluated on both operational performance and the ability to grow and develop the branch. Key performance areas may include:

  • Member service and satisfaction

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, management, or a related field preferred.
  • Three or more years of progressively responsible financial institution experience preferred.
  • Previous supervisory, management, or team leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Credit union or banking branch management experience preferred.
  • Previous lending and business development experience preferred.

Community Involvement

The Branch Manager is expected to actively represent Idaho United Credit Union within the community. This may include participation in chambers of commerce, community organizations, employer groups, networking events, volunteer activities, and other opportunities that support the Credit Union’s mission and growth objectives.

Some activities may occur outside normal business hours.
