InRoads Credit Union is seeking a diligent, and knowledgeable full time Asset Recovery Manager to join our team in St Helens, Oregon. This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule and comes with a full benefit package including a matching 401k.

The Asset Recovery Manager is responsible for overseeing the credit union’s delinquency management, loss mitigation and recovery strategies to minimize financial losses and protect asset quality. This role leads the administration of charged-off loans, repossessions, bankruptcies, foreclosures, and collections operations while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies. This position partners closely with lending, finance and risk leadership to monitor portfolio performance, identify emerging credit risks, and implement proactive recovery solutions. This manager also develops and executes strategies to improve recovery rates, reduce charge-offs and enhance operational efficiency across all stages of the loan lifecycle.
This role will require a minimum of five (5) years of job-related experience in Credit Risk and Collections including supervisory experience. Completion of Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or a similar area of study is required.
A successful Asset Recovery Manager should be equipped with the following:
- Proficiency in excel, word processing, and database software applications are required.
- Must have ability to work with numbers, perform calculations, troubleshoot balancing errors, and maintain accuracy in detailed-oriented accounting activities.
- Requires experience in Audit, Compliance, and/or Risk Management.
- Requires strong interpersonal and communications skills to develop trust and utilize diplomacy in conducting early-stage asset recovery activities designed to motivate and influence others in sensitive financial discussions.
- Excellent communication, analytical, critical thinking, computer, and math skills are needed.
- Strong skills in financial platform and other software programs, the ability to effectively delegate and coach employees, and the ability to interface with employees of all levels of authority are required.
- Must be able to maintain composure under pressure, interact routinely with others face-to-face, by telephone, and through other communication methods using active listening skills and excellent teamwork.
- Must be reliable in meeting exacting or highly accurate work results, strict deadlines, and prompt and friendly service delivery.
- Requires working with others in a group or team and the ability to remain flexible despite interruptions and/or routine changes to priorities and/or job duties.
- Requires ability to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl on a routine basis.
