Job Description:

InRoads Credit Union is seeking a diligent, and knowledgeable full time Accounting Manager to join our team in St Helens, Oregon. This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule and comes with a full benefit package including a matching 401k.

The Accounting Manager oversees the daily operations of the general accounting activities of the Credit Union, including direct leadership responsibility of the accounting team. Assists in the oversight of general accounting functions such as monthly financial close, general ledger, reconciliations, and internal controls for the organization. Plans and directs the development, implementation, and operation of accounting systems, procedures, and processes to reduce costs. Plays an important role in ensuring the Credit Union’s financial information is complete, accurate, and processed on time. Follows procedures that result in reliable financial records, operational efficiency, and financial reporting in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and regulatory requirements as well as Credit Union industry standards.

 

This role will require a minimum of two (2) years of job-related or similar experience including a basic knowledge of accounting. Completion of college-level course work in bookkeeping or accounting is preferred.

 

A successful Accounting Manager should be equipped with the following:

 

  • Proficiency in excel, word processing, and database software applications are required.
  • Must have ability to work with numbers, perform calculations, troubleshoot balancing errors, and maintain accuracy in detailed-oriented accounting activities.
  • Requires strong interpersonal and communications skills to discuss, provide guidance and/or resolve accounting related questions skills.
  • Must be able to maintain composure under pressure, interact routinely with others face-to-face, by telephone, and through other communication methods using active listening skills and excellent teamwork.
  • Must be reliable in meeting exacting or highly accurate work results, strict deadlines, and prompt and friendly service delivery.
  • Requires working with others in a group or team and the ability to remain flexible despite interruptions and/or routine changes to priorities and/or job duties.
  • Requires ability to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl on a routine basis.
