Biography
With over three decades of leadership and financial acumen, Sherrie Escobar, Grand Altitude Federal Credit Union’s Commercial & Ag Loan Officer, has cultivated a dynamic career rooted in service, strategy, and resilience. Her 39-year background in finance reflects a rich tapestry of achievements — ranging from branch development and lending expertise to employee management and institutional transformation. Throughout her career, Sherrie has held roles such as Vice President and Branch Manager, where she oversaw lending operations across commercial, agricultural, residential, and municipal sectors.
She played a critical role in the startup of de novo branches, the revival of struggling locations, and the establishment of bank charters. Her leadership extended to managing teams of 20+ employees, crafting lending policies, and executing customer engagement and marketing strategies that elevated institutional presence and performance. Sherrie earned her bachelor’s degree in finance and business management from Monroe School of Business in Monroe, New Jersey, and holds a specialized commercial lending degree from the Commercial Lending School of Georgia. In 2016, she embraced a calling: healthcare advocacy in rural communities.
As Executive Director of regional health foundations, she championed access to quality medical care. Her work included collaborating with national philanthropists, securing grants, and driving major improvements in clinical training, equipment upgrades, and patient support services. This chapter of her professional life was both mission-driven and deeply fulfilling. Whether leading financial institutions or advocating for community wellness, Sherrie’s career is defined by purpose, integrity, and a commitment to making a difference.
