BIOGRAPHY:

Mary Navarrete is the Director of Community Impact at Point West Credit Union and Vice President of the Juntos Avanzamos/NLCUP Pacific Northwest Chapter. A first-generation immigrant from Michoacán, Mexico, Mary has lived in Vancouver, Wash., since 1997 and is passionate about creating pathways to financial security for underserved communities.

She began her credit union journey as a teller, later becoming a loan officer, and now leads programs that advance financial inclusion and immigrant access to banking. Mary holds an associate degree from Clark College and is a Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor, with additional certifications in Financial Management, Consumer Lending, and Credit Union Leadership.

Mary was honored with the Young Credit Union Leader Award and represented Oregon as a GAC Crasher. She’s participated in global exchanges through the World Council of Credit Unions and actively supports ITIN lending, green lending, and CDFI initiatives.

She currently serves as board chair of Bienestar, a nonprofit focused on affordable housing for Latinx and immigrant families, and is a proud member of the Global Women’s Leadership Network Sister Society. Mary is driven by a deep connection to her community and a belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to pursue the American dream.
