BIOGRAPHY:

Janet Powell has worked for the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services, Division of Financial Regulation, since September 1992. She is the Chief of Regulation and Supervision for the Credit Union Program and has served as the program’s supervising examiner since 2004 and manager since 2007. Prior to that, she worked as a financial examiner and review examiner in the banking, trust, and credit union programs.

Previously, Janet worked for St. Mary’s Academy in Portland, Ore., as the development director for one year and worked for The Oregon Bank in a number of capacities for nearly 25 years. She has management, lending, operations, business development, and special project experience, and was a bank officer for 16 years.

Janet serves as Chair of the Regulator Board of the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors (NASCUS) and is certified by NASCUS as a state credit union examination supervisor and by the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS) as an examiner-in-charge.

She attended Marylhurst College and has received various banking and regulatory training.
