BIOGRAPHY:

As the Vice President of Political Affairs, Chris works directly with credit union members, professionals, volunteer board members and community organizations. He helps them develop, organize and implement all aspects of credit union legislative and political advocacy, which includes the expansion and developmental to of social media to achieve political, legislative and regulatory objectives. Chris is a Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) and brings 24 years of experience in the advocacy, public policy, political and grassroots mobilization and education arena.  Chris is also one of the founders and Co-Host of In the Movement Podcast.   

Prior to joining the Association, Chris was the National Legislative and Political Representative with the American Federation of Government Employees, AFL-CIO for a 13-state region. In addition, he served as an executive board member of the Denver Area Labor Federation, Vice President of the Colorado AFL-CIO and the St Joseph’s Home for Veterans Accessibility Project. 

Chris has served on several boards including the National Conference for Political Professionals, also has been a past CO-Chair to the conference, and currently sits as a Regional Director for the Colorado High School Coaches Association (CHSCA), Chair, 4A/5A Girls Basketball, Colorado Coaches of Girls Sports, Supervisory Committee Member for Community Choice CU and Ex-Officio board member for the Mapleton Education Foundation. Other notable boards he has served on include the Colorado Labors Community Agency, and the Colorado YMCA Youth in Government program. In his free time, Chris is the head girls’ basketball coach and varsity assistant and jumps coach for the boys & girls track team for Skyview High School, in Thornton. 

Chris is a Veteran of the United States Navy, active duty from 1992-1998, and active duty reserves from 1998-2001. Some of Chris’s awards include Navy Achievement Medal, United States Navy, Vice President’s Gold Hammer Award-Partnership/Collaboration, the United States Department of Treasury and Union Builder of the Year, 2004, with the American Federation of Government Employees, AFL-CIO., Colorado League, and a 4X – Coach of the Year
