Melanie Kennedy

Biography

Melanie Kennedy is the President and CEO of Southwest Financial Federal Credit Union in Farmers Branch, Texas, where she leads with energy, curiosity, and a firm belief that life should never be boring.

A connector at heart, Melanie is passionate about bringing people and ideas together, challenging the status quo, and finding better ways to serve members and strengthen the Credit Union Movement. She serves on the Boards of Directors for America’s Credit Unions and the National Credit Union Foundation, where she champions credit unions, their members, and the cooperative difference.

Melanie holds a bachelor’s degree in international business and Spanish, is a Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE), and is a proud alumna of Southwest CUNA Management School. A lifelong learner and enthusiastic collaborator, she believes the best ideas often come from sharing experiences, asking better questions, and having the courage to try something different.
