Biography

Kaeshier Fernandez is the Community Manager at Filene Research Institute, where he oversees The Cooperative Trust, Filene’s emerging leader network connecting rising credit union professionals through its signature Crash programming. Through Crash, he creates opportunities for industry exposure, professional development, and meaningful connections that help the next generation of credit union leaders grow. Before joining Filene, Kaeshier spent nine years at Redstone Federal Credit Union in Huntsville, Alabama.

He started as a teller and found his professional home in Financial Education, where he developed a deep belief in the power of shared learning and empowering others. His own journey through The Cooperative Trust includes being selected as a GAC Crasher in 2023 and returning as a GAC Crash Mentor in 2024.

Now, he leads the very programming that helped shape his career. A proud Pacific Islander from Guam, Kaeshier was raised with strong community values and brings a people-first perspective to everything he does—which, in the credit union world, feels right at home.
