We are currently looking for a full-time non-exempt Recovery Specialist to join our team!  In this role, you will act in the interest of SELCO Community Credit Union for asset recovery and provide Legal Department with administrative support.

This position will report onsite to either the Corporate Headquarters location in Springfield, Oregon, or a branch in Bend, Oregon. This position may become eligible for a hybrid onsite and remote work arrangement once training is completed, and for those who meet the program requirements. The successful candidate will need to be available to work Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm.

COMPENSATION

Base Salary:

  • The full salary range for the Recovery Specialist position is $15.46 to $17.82 per hour, based on relevant knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
  • Spanish-language differential: Candidates who pass the Spanish language assessment will be eligible to earn an additional $1-$2 per hour.

Incentives: In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for monthly incentives based on the production of specific recovery and bankruptcy activities. Although there is not a minimum or maximum incentive threshold, on average a Recovery Specialist earns around $4,820 per month in incentives. To aid with the learning curve, new hires will receive a tiered, minimum guaranteed incentive payout for the first 6 months of active employment unless incentives over tiered amounts are earned, in which case the higher amount will be paid.

  • 6 Month Tier Schedule for Guaranteed Incentives:
    • Month 1: $4,000
    • Month 2: $4,000
    • Month 3: $3,000
    • Month 4: $3,000
    • Month 5: $2,000
    • Month 6: $1,000

Annual Incentive: In addition, all SELCO team members receive an annual incentive based on how well SELCO meets the prior year’s strategic business goals. This incentive is calculated using the team member’s prior year eligible earnings and ranges from 0%-12% (with the average payout over the last five years being 11.07%).

POSITION DETAILS

Essential Functions include (please see the position description for a comprehensive list):

  • Actively recover charged-off accounts and maintain prompt, continuous contact with delinquent members until charged-off accounts are collected or resolved using a variety of collection and other methods such as legal action, post-judgment remedies and collection agency assignment.
  • Assist with drafting and issuing garnishments and levies.
  • Send out appropriate notices as directed or required by law for repossessions, legal actions and any other applicable situations.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; and
  • At least two (2) years of collections or equivalent experience; and
  • Legal field experience is preferred, but not required; and
  • Must be bondable.
