Job Description:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
·         Team Leadership & Development

·         Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate branch staff.

·         Provide coaching and ongoing professional development to build a high-performing, collaborative, and member-focused team.

·         Develop individual goals for employees that align with the credit union’s strategic objectives.

·         Monitor and manage staff performance, delivering feedback and corrective actions when necessary.

·         Ensure all team members receive comprehensive training through collaboration with the Training department and regular on-the-job coaching.

·         Member Service & Relationship Management

·         Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional member service across all channels (in person, phone or email).

·         Resolve escalated member concerns or complaints with professionalism and care.

·         Promote and cross-sell credit union products and services to meet member needs and enhance satisfaction.

·         Branch Operations Management

·         Oversee daily branch operations including cash handling, transaction processing, and opening/closing procedures.

·         Ensure proper staffing to support service needs and maintain operational efficiency.

·         Partner with management to ensure the branch remains secure, compliant, and operationally sound.

·         Enforce security protocols to protect members, employees, and credit union assets.

·         Maintain a high level of accuracy and competence in all operational and regulatory duties.

·         Sales & Business Development

·         Drive performance on sales, service, and member growth metrics.

·         Provide consistent sales coaching to effectively hit targeted branch goals.

·         Help achieve credit union goals by meeting or exceeding minimum standards for the branch.

·         Identify opportunities to deepen member relationships and grow membership.

·         Keep staff well-informed and engaged in all marketing campaigns, product promotions, and service-related events.

·         Represent the credit union in the community, supporting local partnerships and promoting brand visibility.

·         Compliance & Risk Management

·         Ensure branch operations comply with all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

·         Monitor internal controls and address compliance issues promptly.

·         Maintain accurate departmental records and support audit and examination processes.

·         Responsible for business continuity planning/response/resumption for immediate department/branch.

 

OTHER CRITICAL JOB & MANAGEMENT DUTIES
·         Operational & Lending Services

·         Is proficient in all operational and lending functions.

·         Maintain knowledge of all IRA products including options offered by Red Canoe Financial Group.

·         Accountable for timely and accurate documentation for all consumer, business, membership, and lending services.

·         Financial Management

·         Assist in budgeting and cost control; monitor and manage department expenses, cash and supply ordering.

·         Collaborate with senior leadership to align branch activities with financial targets.

·         Communication

·         Maintain open and timely communication with both senior leadership and branch staff regarding performance, staffing, policies, and operational updates.

·         Time Management

·         Maintain regular and consistent office hours in accordance with Red Canoe’s operational standards. May work additional hours including Saturdays, holidays, and other times as business needs require.

·         Manage Saturday branch operations, including staff scheduling, and participation in the branch manager rotation, if applicable.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
·         High school diploma or equivalent
·         Associate or Technical Arts (AA) Degree, preferred.
·         Minimum of 3 to 5 years of management experience in financial services or retail branch operations; or, five (5) or more year’s technical experience within operations and lending with demonstrable leadership skills.
·         Basic computer and keyboard skills; Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
·         Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
·         Strong knowledge of credit union products, lending, and regulatory compliance

 

JOB RELATIONSHIPS
·         This position reports directly to the Director of Branch Operations. Supervises all branch employees and may have day-to-day, or periodic, contact with employees, management team, board of directors, members, suppliers, etc.

 

ESSENTIAL MENTAL, PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
·         Physical – Office mobility required. Approximately 20% standing, 70% sitting, 10% walking, as need demands. Possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate standard office equipment including a computer, typewriter, adding machine, facsimile machine, photocopier, and telephone. Other demands include talking, handling & reaching, seeing (corrected vision) and hearing in normal range. A telephone device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed. Occasional light lifting: maximum lift requirement is 30 pounds. Periodic inter-department or interdepartmental access may be required, including for distribution and access to various materials, equipment, meetings, etc. Storage and retrieval of materials, maximum reach required is 84 inches.
·         Mental – Mental effort required involving considerable organization, planning, and analytical efforts with superior communication. General demands include alertness, memory, observation, empathy, ingenuity, learning ability, problem solving, patience, initiative, memory, objectivity, creativity, speaking ability, reading, and writing ability, judgment, persuasiveness, concentration, flexibility, precision, and auditory discrimination.
·         Environmental – Minimum discomfort from heat, dust, air conditioning, noise, including external road noise. Transport within remote department and/or main office/facility may be single or multilevel (as required) including a variety of stairways, elevators, etc. Exposure to computer and other electronic equipment. Lunch/break area exposed to microwave and is in the basement at main office. Facility is 100% free of tobacco smoke.
·         Equipment – Essential equipment used includes, but may not be limited to telephone, personal computer, on-line terminal, calculator, and office security systems. Non-essential equipment generally includes paper shredder, photocopy machine, and facsimile machine.
