The Chief Operating Officer (COO) reports directly to the President and CEO and serves as a trusted advisor, partnering to advance Credit Union West’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities. The COO supports the CEO in defining the organization’s vision and values, translating enterprise-wide strategies into actionable initiatives, and fostering innovation, continuous improvement, and organizational alignment.

This collaborative, hands-on leader exemplifies servant leadership, fostering a positive, inclusive culture where employees feel valued, respected, and empowered. The COO provides coaching and mentorship to strengthen leadership depth, enhance engagement, and ensure the organization remains an employer of choice.

The COO provides visionary oversight of business services, marketing, community development, and retail delivery, driving operational excellence, innovation, and initiatives that support growth, financial stability, and community impact. This individual will establish policies and processes that ensure consistent, cost-effective, and compliant operations, while collaborating across functions to achieve goals in sales, service, operational controls, and budgets.

Focused on member experience, the COO champions the credit union’s sales and service culture, leveraging data-driven insights to evolve products and services, enhance financial well-being, and expand memberships, deposits, loans, and member relationships. Additionally, the COO oversees financial stability, risk management, and corporate sustainability, while supporting the CEO in operationalizing the Board’s vision and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Help Us Get to Know You

A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, or a related field from an accredited college or university is required. A master’s degree in business administration or a related discipline from an accredited institution is strongly preferred. Candidates should have 10+ years of progressive senior leadership experience in the financial services industry, with a demonstrated history in operations, strategic planning, digital strategy, and organizational management.

  • Maintain working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and collaborative tools (Teams and Zoom).
  • Must demonstrate functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to the U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act.
