This full-time position is based out of our Tumwater, WA financial center where you’ll enjoy a professional and energetic work environment. Your day may include:
- Monitoring delinquent and overdrawn accounts to determine appropriate action.
- Initiating and responding to correspondence from members.
- Negotiating payment arrangements and taking payments by phone.
- Assigning collateral for repossession when necessary and manage collateral through sale process.
- Processing loan modifications and hardship requests.
- Processing all bankruptcy correspondence and take appropriate actions on behalf of the CU.
- Process charge-offs, write-offs, settlement negotiation, assign charged-off debts to third party collection agencies.
- Respond to credit reporting disputes.
- Managing debt protection claims and processing.
- Monitoring member auto & home insurance cancellations.
- Coordinate with beneficiaries and Personal Representatives/Executors on deceased member estate/probate claims.
- Represent eDCU in legal matters, as they pertain to collections and fraud
- Liaise with law enforcement and attorney’s
- Manage expenses for repossessions & foreclosures
- Partner with reputable vendors
- Recognize and recommend process improvements
- Other duties as assigned
We need someone with an established skill level. We have the following requirements:
- Equivalent to a high school education
- One to three years of similar or related experience within a Financial Institution
- Must have knowledge of federal and state regulations to include Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FCRA), and understanding of credit and underwriting evaluation
- Knowledge of bankruptcy and repossession laws and processes
- Experience with skip tracing tools such as Accurint
- Ability to work and make decisions independently
- Display courtesy, tact, and diplomacy with current and potential members, peers, and staff
- Proficient with standard office equipment Excel, MS Word, and Outlook
- Other skills and training considered a plus:
- Experience with account and loan fraud
- Underwriting and/or Loan Processing experience
- Compliance training in
- Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act
- Servicemember Civil Relief Act
- Bank Secrecy Act and reporting
- Currency Transaction reporting
- USA Patriot Act
- Card fraud and risk
