BIOGRAPHY:

Amy B. Hunter has been the Director of Credit Unions for the Department of Financial Institutions since November 2018. She leads a top-notch division of professionals who regulate and oversee 48 state-chartered credit unions, ranging in asset size from $22 million to $30 billion. Before joining the division, she had a 20+ year career in gambling regulation, another highly regulated industry. Amy serves on the Joint Leadership Board of NASCUS (National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors) as well as several NASCUS committees. During the pandemic, she encouraged her team to be “flexible and reasonable,” which are principles they have continued to follow.

Amy has a law degree from Seattle University School of Law and a B.S. in Sociology/Criminal Justice from Kansas State University.
