BIOGRAPHY:

Nick Fugal has been involved in the Credit Union Movement for more than 15 years, with twelve of those years in his current role as the Chief Financial Officer of Clarity Credit Union. In his role as Clarity’s CFO, he oversees Finance, Accounting, Compliance, Audit, IT, EFT/ACH, and Plastic Cards for the $205 million credit union.

Nick helped Clarity Credit Union become one of the first credit unions in Idaho to obtain CDFI designation in 2020 and implemented Clarity’s Progress In Credit program, which automatically rewards members quarterly for improving their credit.

Passionate about the Credit Union Movement, he shares this enthusiasm by training every new employee at the credit union in Credit Union Philosophy and about the importance of showing empathy. Nick graduated with High Honors from Western CUNA Management School’s Xi class in 2016 and returned as a graduate assistant for the 2017 Omicron class and the 2021 Sigma class.

Nick has been very involved in the Credit Union Movement throughout his career, participating in and leading many programs including serving as one of the World Council of Credit Unions interns for the International Credit Union Exchange program in Costa Rica; President of the Idaho Southwest Chapter of Credit Unions; Member and Co-chair of the Idaho Government Affairs Committee; Youth Advisory Director of the Idaho Credit Union League Board; Co-founder of the GoWest MAXX YP Leads Program; a GoWest Young Credit Union of the Year award winner; Credit Union Times’ 2017 Trailblazers 40 under 40; GoWest Advocacy Subcommittee Chair; Blossom Advisory Committee Member; and World Young Credit Union Professional Steering Committee Member.
