Consumer Loan officer (Full or Part Time)

Key Responsibilities:

• Embrace the mission statement and core values of Valley Credit Union
• Provide financial counseling to members in the wise use of credit
• Perform underwriting and disburse funds for all varieties of consumer and business loans including: vehicle loans, home equity lines of credit, and unsecured loans
• Interview, process, approve and deny loan requests
• Be the advocate for the member to help them achieve their financial goals
• Cross sell addition products and services that would benefit the member
• Open membership and originate savings and checking accounts for new members
• Review loan applications for accuracy, compliance and completeness
• Assist lending team in continuous improvement of procedures and policy
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

• Enthusiastic “can do” attitude
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a financial institution
• Experience with consumer, business and home equity loan underwriting preferred
• Must have the confidence to resolve challenges, make decisions, and manage multiple loans
• Minimum of two years customer service experience
• Ability to read and analyze credit reports and income documentation
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• Detail oriented, good organizational skills, and ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines
• Ability to present positive and professional image to all employees and members
